History

At the General Assembly meeting of 8 Nov 1892, the change of name of the Presbytery of Seymour to the Presbytery of Goulburn Valley was approved. The Presbytery consisted of the following congregations: Alexandra, Broadford, Euroa, Kyabram, Mansfield, Mooroopna, Nathalia, North Moira, Numurkah, Rushworth, Seymour, Shepparton, Tatura and Yea.

On 4 October 1978 the General Assembly approved the formation of a new Presbytery to be known as the Presbytery of Benalla consisting of all the congregations of the former Presbytery of Goulburn Valley and the Presbytery of North East and any person under the jurisdiction of the former Presbyteries. At that time the Presbytery of Goulburn Valley consisted of the congregations of Broadford, Nagambie, Numurkah, Seymour, Tatura and Yea.
