History

At the General Assembly meeting of 10 November 1862 an application was made by the Presbytery of Portland for a re-distribution of the Congregations of the Presbyteries of Portland, Ballaarat, and Kilnoorat. It was agreed that the new Presbytery of Hamilton would consist of the congregations at Hamilton, Balmoral, Harrow, Mosquito Plains, Casterton, Coleraine and Portland.

In October 1978 the State General Assembly agreed to form a Presbytery to be known as the Presbytery of Kilnoorat consisting of the congregations of the former Presbytery of Hamilton and the former Presbytery of Mortlake and any person or persons under the jurisdiction of the former Presbyteries. This new Presbytery covered Camperdown, Hamilton, Heywood/Portland, Koroit/Port Fairy, Lismore, Noorat, Terang and Warrnambool.
